Tapia Canyon

The Hike of the Month is Tapia Canyon (TC). TC is located NW of Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Cabezon Peak area. You will drive through Guadelupe Ghost Town on the way to the canyon. Make sure you stop and say hello to the friendly horses. Once you have arrived at the TC parking area, you will hike a drywash to the natural arch. Along the way you will see petroglyphs and native ruins. After taking photos of the arch, make sure you walk under the arch and into the narrow slot canyon for a ways before heading back the way you came.

This hike is difficult to locate and you might miss the petroglyphs and ruins if you do not know what you are looking for. Book a tour guide through Enchanted Light Tours to make sure you have an amazing experience.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
